Naja, auf jeden Fall erstmal danke für dein Kommentar :) Ich hab mich jetzt auch nochmal mit der Frage mit den Gastgeschenken beschäftigt und ich muss sagen, dass ich zu keiner Lösung gekommen bin... Hast du denn schon 'ne Gastfamilie? Wenn die dann zum Beispiel kleinere Kinder haben, kann man denen betimmt gut, nicht nur Süßigkeiten, sondern auch ein Spiel mitbringen oder so... (Nur so als Tipp, falls dir auch noch nichts eingefallen ist :) LG Coralie

B4 for today I knew you had a USA blog but did not really know how to read it. but tonight Bre got me on here and you brought tears to my eyes time and time again. You say such wonderful things about us, you talk so kindly of me and I am not worthy of these kind words. I will not lie to you and tell you I know what you are going through because I do not but what I can tell you is that we love you so very much and will do anything that we can do to make this transition easier on you. I am so very excited to have you with us for 10 months and yet so sad for your mom, dad, and Sophie as they will be without you for that period of time and of course your friends also that will not have you there for that time. You and your parents so often say that you are grateful to us and really it is all of you that are doing so much for us. You are a brave girl to make this journey, your parents are amazing to allow you to go abroad and trust us to be your family for 10 months. I think of that often,, as a parent we choose to allow you to spend the night at your friends or go somewhere with a certain person and yet in this they are having to trust in us and they have never gotten the chance to meet us, I will promise to you and them that I will love and protect you just as I do my other children. we are not the perfect family we have flaws but we will love and protect you always. I hope that when you are having sad times missing your family and friends that you can talk to us, we know that will happen please do not feel as though we will not understand. Huong I love you with everything that I am you are amazing and already are my daughter, please know you are not coming to strangers but instead to a family that loves you and are anxiously waiting your arrival.Please never fear about the love we have for you there is so many other things to worry about but never about the love we have for you. Wow, you made me speechless! Well, first of all: OF COURSE YOU ARE WORTH ALL OF THESE WORDS, actually you are more worth than only that! And because I know that you will be my host family I am not as worried about leaving Germany as I was before. Really, since I got to know you, it is A LOT easier for me living with this idea staying one year abroad. It was my decision to leave and my dream which you fulfilled by deciding to host me. To be honest: yes, it will be hard for me without my parent, my little sister Sofie and my friends. But I could never imagine ANY better host family for me, nobody could have helped me more than you did. You supported me from the first moment, since January we are staying in contact. That are SIX MONTHS now. You are not only motivating me but also taking some fears away from my parents, they trust you and love you for everything you are doing for me. For being a family for me, giving me love, support me to adjust to a completely new life, ..., I could make an endless list. From all the kind letters you sent to my parents and to me, you totally convinced them that I will be safe and stay in an absolutely amazing family. We could never thank you enough. And I can't express in words how grateful we feel. For me you are more than a perfect family! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! Your German daughter ;)

Hey, ich finde deinen Blog echt super :) Und wenn ich ihn lese, freue ich mich noch mehr auf mein Auslandsjahr nächstes Jahr. Besonders die Tatsache, dass deine Gastfamilie so eine tolle Geburtstagsparty für dich veranstaltet hat, finde ich richtig super und hoffe, dass ich auch so glück haben werden :) Ich kann garnicht mehr warten und als ich die Einträge gelesen habe, die du im Mai und in den anderen Monaten davor geschrieben hast, gelesen habe, fühlte ich mich das erste mal verstanden :D Keiner in meinem Freundeskreis und in meiner Familie kann mich verstehen, aber jetzt weiß ich ja, dass andere auch so fühlen oder sich eher gesagt gefühlt haben :D Hast du denn Heimweh?
